2nd Quarter Mile

Well done to all of you for your efforts in the Mile test that we measured at the end the second quarter of 2012. We had some very pleasing results. Some of you did not run as fast as the previous quarter but that may have been due to the slower pace set by the larger group running on the day. You have another Mile test this quarter so you need to get out there running.

For some of you, running is your thing. For others, it is an activity that doesn't attract you. Either way, the Mile test is a benchmark test of you aerobic capacity.

If you struggle with running, the best thing to do is to build up your continuous running time.
Begin with 10 minutes continuous running - 2 minutes walking recovery - 5 minutes continuous running - 2 minutes walking recovery - 5 minutes continuous running - warm down 2 minute recovery walk.

Your goal is to increase the continuous running times and reduce walking recovery. Ultimately, you should be able to run continuously for at least 30 minutes.

Congratulations to the following students for the hard work they have put into their improved Mile times. AWESOME!!!!!!
